FAUST ARABIANS...The Success that Breeds On

Psky FA placed third on Judge Hughe's card in a very deep four year old stallion class at Scottsdale 05 and Top Five overall...

In considering a breeding to Psky FA we suggest that breeders look at the remarkable SUCCESS of DA Valentino (US National Champion Yearling Sweepstakes Colt and now 2006 US National Champion Jr. Stallion) and RHR Ggiselle (2004 US National Champion Reserve Yearling Sweepstakes Filly and 2006 Top Ten Futurity Filly) and others who are descended from Jamaara FA (Psky's dam). These two national champions - descended from our aristocrat mares - prove the quality of our program. The lineages are provided below and we hope you enjoy studying them. This is the stuff of dreams.

We suggest taking the time to look at the outcrosses, look at the photographs, and if possible see these individuals in person. You will see the consistent beautiful long legs, the exceptional heads, the perfect necks, and the common element is they all go back to Jamaara FA. Then look at the Psky FA foals who are now yearlings to see he is passing on the same quality, with very expressive, animated personalities in addition to their beauty.

We also encourage our breeders to purchase the gorgeous new book on Ali Jamaal by our dear friend and mentor, Lenita Perroy. Lenita's writing is clear, inspiring and educational, and she presents her program in a wonderfully well organized fashion. This book is a MUST for Arabian breeders, and we thank Lenita for this new contribution to our industry, among her many.

Elvis is Back

- Irene Deem, Photographer

As beautiful as Psky FA is - and he will take your breath away - the most powerful thing that will strike you is his eyes. As his owner Judy Faust says, Psky looks at you "soul to soul." Psky is a merry soul who will excel at halter, bringing his Elvis the KING personality.

In shooting his video, he put on a show for us that had us screaming!

When I arrived for his shoot, he was standing calmly on his hind legs, peeking over the 10 foot wall of his stall, admiring a lovely filly getting a bath. He is a big beautiful stallion, with a fine coat that gleams like polished bronze. He has amazing strength and balance for such a young horse. Realizing he had visitors, he slowly and precisely lowered himself to the ground and came over to sniff my camera. Normally one would worry about a young horse standing on his hind legs going over backwards. But he stands straight up, holds himself perfectly still for about 90 seconds, obviously in control, and enjoying looking at the filly. And he looks at you and greets you so politely...very mature in his manners and way of presenting himself. Very regal, very happy and just an eye popping horse. I believe he is a horse who would be admired outside the Arabian circuit - his neck set, his clean legs, his beautiful top line and powerful deep hip...any breeder could not help but admire the quality of this horse. And that look...like a human looking back at you! And not just any human, but a star. Around the barn he is a very quiet horse. He needs an audience.

I hope you will have an opportunity to see this stallion in person, as his photographs do not capture his charisma. He is quite stunning - just by his physical appearance. But observe him - he is a horse with a delightful sense of humor and play, very full of himself, who loves to interact with humans. He will gallop around you 18 inches from you in a 5 meter circle, his eye and ear on you and then hold himself in a levade position, then dart away. You will see in his video he loves to drop his head to the ground and then lift himself taking 2 or 3 strides using his hind legs only. With 3 humans directing him, he delighted in finding the "holes" in our positions, racing through them and around behind us. Our goal was to get him trotting down at one end of the arena for filming. He did trot nicely for us, but then cleverly invaded our territory. He was always careful to move at a safe distance from us, but he made his point of scoring in our territory. If he got trapped he suspended himself in his typical statuesque pose with his front feet off the ground, and then found his escape back to his side of the court without being rude. He is incredibly agile for such a tall horse.

In shooting his video we were all calling to him, having so much fun with him. He stopped and as if to say "watch this", he dropped his head to the ground and lifted himself up on his hind legs, boxing, walking on his hind legs. Then he dropped to the ground and walked like a lion, calmly over to the fence. Psky rolls and struts when he walks, like a star basketball player walking off court. We were still calling to him, so he gave us one more leap in the air. Then just when we thought we were done, but he gave us another 5 minutes of showing off, doing his splendid dives, leaps and wonderful passes.

Looking at the antics of his foals and listening to the comments from their owners, it appears this playful personality is passed on. In his VHS video, you will see they all are prone to that use of the front end in the air, leaping and turing 180 in the air - all beautiful athletes!

The Arabian world is going to enjoy this horse - and I think he will bring back the fun to our shows. His beautiful long head is chiseled and his profile is wonderful. As he turns you see the reference sires - a flash of Bey Shah across the eyes, that shifts to Ali Jamaal in full view, and then it's Padron and Padrons Psyche in profile. Its a very interesting head - filled with a very good mind.
